WCS provides the research capability, knowledge and experience necessary for the development of climate plans and strategies that are understood and supported by a large cross section of interest holders, from members of the public to members of Council.

Lisa Westerhoff, Principal Owner (PhD)

As principal owner and founder of Westerhoff Climate Strategies, Lisa Westerhoff is recognized in British Columbia and throughout Canada as a focused, reliable and leader in building decarbonization policy and interest holder engagement.

With over 10 years of industry experience, works with local governments, universities, developers, and industry organizations to create policies and strategies for a low-carbon and resilient built environment. Lisa holds a PhD in urban sustainability from the University of British Columbia (2016) and is the author of several academic publications on strategies for increasing climate change resilience and energy and emissions reductions. She also holds a Master’s degree in climate change resilience and adaptation (2008) and was the winner of the Canada Green Building Council’s Green Building Champion Award in 2019.
